CALL ON NEW YORK ELECTED OFFICIALS TO STAND WITH LOCAL RESIDENTS AND COMMUNITY BOARD 8 TO OPPOSE NORTHWELL HEALTH'S MASSIVE DEVELOPMENT SCHEME FOR LENOX HILL HOSPITAL.
Northwell Health's $2.5 billion proposal to rebuild Lenox Hill Hospital as a 500-foot tower in a neighborhood where the infrastructure cannot support it. While we support modernizing Lenox Hill Hospital, Northwell could improve the facility and service without massive tower developments that permanently harm our community.
TELL THESE ELECTED OFFICIALS TO OPPOSE NORTHWELL'S PLAN:
- NO to overturning zoning laws that will damage our historic neighborhood!
- NO to an unnecessary plan to build the tallest hospital in New York City and the second tallest in the world shoehorned our residential neighborhood!
- NO to 10 years of construction that will cause new traffic, noise and safety problems and create a congestion crisis for decades to come! And they want to keep Lenox Hill open during their construction!
- NO to Northwell's disregard for local businesses that will be destroyed by this scheme!
- NO to Northwell's attempt to mislead us into thinking that this is the only way forward!
- NO to an un-needed vanity project when outer boroughs lack hospitals!
